Jeffrey Chen
As leader of The ERP Consulting Exchange technical team, Jeffrey is responsible for the design, build-out and day-to-day operation of the Exchange’s system infrastructure, including all related issues. He also provides all technical support for members with accounts on the SAP Consulting Exchange’s SAP systems. Jeffrey is a technology professional with more than 10 years experience in IT/ERP with a particular focus on SAP R/3 pre-configured systems (PCS), creating, implementing and supporting SAP SMB solutions. He also leverages his broad background with foreign firms inside China helping them develop new businesses and pioneer new solutions. For one such firm — Tagistics Corporation, a U.S.-based provider of RFID “on demand” services — Jeffrey installed and monitored a five-system SAP landscape. This included SAP 4.6C, ECC 6.0, QAS, Production System and Solution Manager system. All systems were installed under LINUX and Max-DB utilizing VMware virtualization. The 4.6C systems were connected via business connector to several third-party systems for e-commerce, warehouse management and RFID. Jeffrey also served as Tagistics network operation center manager — the position he held prior to the ERP Consulting Exchange. There he supported solutions that allow customers of all sizes to become RFID enabled using only an Internet connection. At the same time, Jeffrey also supported Tagistics’ holding company — MeiDa Information Technology Ltd. — the first SAP SMB VAR in China. It was for MeiDa that Jeffrey helped design, introduce and support ChinaMainframe™ — the first pre-configured SAP stack specifically optimized for small and medium Chinese companies. As manager of MeiDa’s SAP certified customer support center, Jeffrey also implemented and supported multiple SAP environments for several domestic Chinese and U.S. off-shoring companies. Jeffrey began his career as a system engineer for several companies, including Legend Group (now Lenovo) and Beijing No. 2 Machine Tools Works.
